Taco night, or taco salad night is one that happens in our house quite frequently! Sometimes I make tortillas out of things like coconut flour, eggs, flax seed, almond meal, and more if we are really missing the pick-it-up-with-your-hands feeling. If not, a quick and easy taco salad is a delicious dinner that can be super easy to throw together! I usually have some guacamole in the fridge, or an avocado around that and can quickly turn into guac. If you slice up some fajita veggies (and saute if you want), throw some mixed greens in the and bowl, and top with some taco meat, a dollop of guac, salsa as a dressing, and maybe a sprinkle of cheese, you’ve got an AWESOME dinner!
Do you typically buy your taco seasoning from the grocery in those envelopes? Have you ever turned over the package and looked at the ingredients of the taco seasoning you use? If not-um….don’t. Just throw it in the trash. It’s not pretty. Typically these premade seasoning packets are full of unnecessary carbs like flour and corn starch. Not to mention it usually has soybean oil and possibly other trans fats in it as well. WHY? Why must they do that?
I am here to save taco night!! This seasoning recipe is quick, easy, and you can make a big batch of it if you want and keep it in a container to use on a whim. The below recipes makes seasoning for 1lb. of meat but is super easy to double or quadruple if you’d like!
